No two alike
MALLA is a Finnish bag brand founded by three sisters. Every bag is crocheted and finished by hand, one stitch at a time.
The idea for MALLA grew from the bags one of us started making for our family and friends. We loved them so much that the rest of us wanted to learn too - so we could make bags exactly the way we wanted them. Soon, our friends started asking about the bags too.
What started as something we made for ourselves became MALLA: a way to share the pieces we loved making with others.
The same design may return in a new colour or yarn, but no two bags are ever exactly the same.
Made by sisters
We design, crochet and finish every piece ourselves - from the first stitch to the final detail. We each bring our own touch to the process, but one thing stays the same: if we wouldn't want to carry it ourselves, we don't list it.
Handmade in Finland
Every MALLA bag is crocheted, lined and finished by hand in Finland. We primarily use recycled cotton T-shirt yarn, complemented by carefully chosen specialty yarns and other details. Each bag is built with a solid base to help it hold its shape.
Handmade means that every piece has its own character. Small differences in the stitches, shape and details make each bag uniquely its own. Each bag is made, photographed and listed individually — once it's yours, that exact piece won't be made again.
Made to be carried, not babied.
